Space Coast Honor Flight’s mission is to take World War II and Korean War Veterans to visit their War Memorials in Washington D.C. This is a unique opportunity to show our gratitude to these heroes who made it possible for us to enjoy the freedoms we have today.
The Space Coast Honor Flight hub out of Melbourne does seven trips a year. If you have an interest you’re more than welcome to attend one of their early morning sendoffs, which have evolved into a really neat, special program.
They, of course, are always recruiting new WWII vets to make the flight, and have been including Korean vets now as well. So please pass the word as they’ve taken a number of vets from Indian River County.
One of our members, Phil Weiler, is very active in this unique program. If you know of any eligible vets or want to participate yourself, please contact Phil at 973-919-5462 or prwvero@comcast.net. Here’s a trifold brochure that describes the program.
